The Unspoken Side of Motherhood. Are we really okay?
April 30, 2022. 2 mins read

As most of you are aware, this week is #worldmentalhealthday2021 and as I see brave women on this platform share their stories, I realize I have a long way to go to talk about this journey freely and normalize mental wellbeing. There’s a stigma that if we talk about our struggles in motherhood, we’re being ungrateful. And I know I’m my harshest critic.
It doesn’t come easy to discuss. Discuss the feeling of constant loneliness, discuss PPD, discuss the anxiety, discuss the guilt of leaving your baby even for 10 mins to shower and it constantly made me wonder, what in the world is the matter with me?! Because if you see me on any other given day, I’m as peachy as can be.
So I’ll leave you with this, regardless of whether you’re a mama or not.
Be a little gentler on yourself. It’s okay to not have it all figured out. You haven’t failed if you do seek out help. In fact, it’s quite the opposite.
Be kind to your mind and your body. Reach out, ask for help, share your voice if you can. It’s okay to not be okay.”
