“I want to share my sisters car birth story with y’all! Because I HAVE TO TELL SOMEONE!

38 weeks on the day. She was texting my mom and I that she was having contractions … Her first birth was 4 hours but it was also at 34 weeks. She couldn’t get comfortable to sleep and they didn’t slow or stop in the bath. They kept intensifying and she started thinking she needed to tell her husband to come home.

At 1220, she said she was having lots of bowel pressure, this was when I started to think it was the really real deal. She was having trouble timing them mostly due to her not being able to get in her app. I told her it would be really helpful if she tried. At this point we were getting ready to head over to pick up my niece as they were going to the hospital.

At 0100 she said she thinks they were 2 minutes apart and lasting around 60 seconds.

We arrived at her house a little after 0130 and she was leaning over the front seat of her car. I could tell she was in deep and asked her if she wanted me to ride to the hospital with them. She said yes so we hopped in the back seat and left.

The next half hour was a blur of time but contractions were coming fast and each one she was clearly bearing down and needing hard counter pressure. She said, “I think he’s coming.” She was handling each contraction like a BOSS, controlling her breathing and listening to her body. I asked her if she wanted to feel for his head and she thought she felt something. A few more contractions and it was clear her husband had to pull over. We would not make it to the hospital. Her husband asked if he needed to call an ambulance and I said, “yeah you kinda have to.” He got out to call and my sister asked me to look, YEP there was babies head. I banged on the window to let her husband know. He put his hand up like “you got this.”

A little before 0200, the next contraction, she pushed and head was out, another push and all of him fell into my hands, I CAUGHT MY NEPHEW. She pulled him up to her chest and he immediately cried this clear loud cry! He was perfect. We looked at eachother like DID THAT JUST HAPPEN!”
