Birth Story: Remember this too shall pass.
April 30, 2022. 2 mins read

Brushing my teeth in bed.
Numb from the waist down.
IV and catheter in place.
Nipples are cracked and sore.
Clothes are nowhere to be seen.
Baby in the bassinet next to me,
but can’t move to pick him up myself.
This was my introduction to motherhood. It wasn’t exactly how I pictured it.
I remember experiencing love like never before. But also overwhelming anxiety and doubt like never before.
Maybe you are in a similar boat I was in right now — motherhood is giving you all sorts of surprises and you aren’t sure you can manage it.
Well, now 18 months later, I can tell you this:
You can and you will.
Inevitably, new challenges will come. The journey includes all types of roads.
But you will walk again.
You will hold your baby on your own.
You will figure out what’s the best way to feed your baby.
You will wear real clothes again.
You will look back and be so proud of how far you have come.
Remember, this too shall pass.
