It was the most peaceful and joyful labour I had
ever experienced.

“Still processing and recovering and resting from the birth. From being very high and full of energy in the first 48 hours, my body has gone into sleep and airplane mode, just cruising with Jedidiah’s Eat Sleep Poop cycle while trying to spend every waking ounce of energy I have given my attention to the girls.⁣

The last month of waiting got me in conversations with many moms about their birth stories and the conclusion has been that no two are quite alike – even with the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd pregnancy.

Jedidiah rang His doorbells on his EDD on the 25th of Nov, 630pm. The contractions were true this time, and strong – yet, I wasn’t quite sure we should go to the hospital after our last expensive staycation of false alarms. ⁣

⁣The contractions kept up so we checked in at midnight and Jedidiah took his first breath at 10:20 am on the 26th of November weighing 3.775kg, measuring 53cm. ⁣
⁣
It was the most peaceful and joyful Labour I had ever experienced with worship playing throughout the night on my phone.

There have been many FIRSTS in our 1st week with Jedidiah.⁣

First time I did not get engorged when my milk came in on the 4th day.⁣The first time any of our babies napped in the crib and for 1 to 3 hours, allowing me to eat meals with both hands.⁣

The first time I have a good supply of milk and heard Jedidiah gulping and burping and having lots of very full diapers.⁣ It’s our 3rd baby and I’m just so thankful that we’ve gotten into the swing of things and that I still get to spend time with my 1st and 2nd. ⁣

When we had Aletheia, the first week was one of the hardest times in my life where I felt so distraught and tired. I didn’t know why she was crying and I felt sad and even guilty that I didn’t have much milk. She also could not be put down and would cry the minute I unlatched her. I was perpetually nursing.⁣
⁣
With Zoe, she would nurse quickly in 5 mins and fall asleep! She only napped in the carrier and never got used to sleeping on her own. I was always holding onto her.⁣
