C-section Birth: this was my second C-section and It was a Dream.

“This was the after and the how. After you entered the world. How you entered… through me…a grand entrance. 

This was my second c-section and it was a dream. Not because it was easy but because I was prepared. Prepared on every level, mentally, emotionally and physically…I knew what to expect. I knew what I needed to do for me and for you.

This is still beauty. This is a body I still celebrated. This was a period in time I wanted to capture so I could remember and see how far the body, my body, could be pushed to its physical limits.

This was 2 days after I delivered my sweet baby boy Adonis. I was proud, I was happy, I was ready to love myself and our story, I was patient, I was kind, I was filled with love from within and from all around me.

This is something I share because motherhood is so many things but most of all it is HARD. It is difficult to love a new body, to care for a helpless baby when you need to also care for yourself, when you are piecing yourself together. It is hard waking up all night long, bleeding for months, running on no energy, the days and the nights they bleed into each other. You are a shell of your former self but….

This is the light, the silver lining. Knowing that you did it, that you could do it, that you would do it again…for what? For love…because no matter how small that love is when it starts out…it grows into something you simply cannot even imagine. 

So love. Love yourself, love your story, love…just love all the hard parts because they deserve love too <3

I never thought I would muster up the courage to share this photo but I have realized that sometimes what the world needs is vulnerability which opens the door to human connection on a deeper level. I will continue to advocate for this type of birth and hopefully provide a glimmer of hope to more mama’s out there searching for the words.”
